Dan Owings, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing paid a courtesy call to the Singapore Institute of Engineering Technologists on 23/3/10. He delivered a preview on BOMI International to members of SIET. The talk stressed on the commitment of BOMI towards the upgrading of the professions through BOMI designations courses. 

He also stressed the importance of "Green" education and training for the professionals especially now the BOMI programmes are endorsed by the United States Green Building Council.
In the next couple of months, through the coordination of iHub-Sinnet Education we will see both Institutes working closely towards "Green" certifications by SIET for their members through BOMI courses

Mr Dan Owings, Senior Director, Sales and Marketing,BOMI International will speak to members of the Singapore institute of Engineering Technologists on 23/3/10 at 7.30pm at the SIET Activity Centre at 166 B Sims Avenue, Singapore 387385. His visit is to further strengthen the recent recognition of RPA,FMA and SMA designation holders into the various membership class of SIET. The talk is the one of the many Institute's activities for the members through the colloboration from iHub-Sinnet Education. This talk is free and is open to the public. • Design, Operation and Maintenance of Building Systems Part I
• Design, Operation and Maintenance of Building Systems Part II
• Environmental Health and Safety Issues
• Energy Management and Controls
• Refrigeration Systems and Accessories
• Air Handling, Water Treatment and Plumbing Systems
• Electrical Systems and Illumination

SIET recently celebrated its 30th anniversary

BOMI International Receives Fourth Approval from USGBC for Green Education

BOMI International is pleased to announce that our Environmental Health and Safety Issues course has been approved by the USGBC as a course that LEED professionals can take to earn Continuing Education hours.

As an approved USGBC Education Provider, BOMI offers peer-reviewed classes accepted by USGBC for credentialing maintenance requirements. The Environmental Health and Safety Issues course underwent a rigorous review process in which a team of subject matter experts evaluated the course based on its content and instructional design quality.
“We are pleased to note that with this approval, 40% of BOMI’s required curriculum for both our Real Property Administrator (RPA®) and Facility Management Administrator (FMA®) designations meet USGBC approval,” said Mr. Horn, adding that BOMI is evaluating other courses for submission to the Council for its consideration. He said his goal is to submit—and have approved—all BOMI International courses.
Michael Coleman, BOMI’s designation manager, said the balance of BOMI’s 20 courses will be submitted to USGBC by early spring. If all of BOMI’s courses are approved, Mr. Coleman said, “it would mean that
professionals in the field can take any of our courses to maintain their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) professional accreditation.”
